DIY Presents: Poliça, The Old Market, Brighton
Minneapolis percussive-giants play a headline show this summer, with tickets on sale now.
This June, Minneapolis’ Poliça are headlining a DIY x One Inch Badge Presents show at Brighton’s Old Market venue. It’s an intimate, exclusive show following their spectacular sell out performance at All Saint’s Church, Brighton earlier this year
The show takes place less than a year on from Channy Leaneagh and co.’s second album, ‘Shulamith’. It’s an album that ‘carries forward all the cohesive elements [of debut ‘Give You The Ghost’], and manages to take them to the next level,’ reads a four-star review of the record on DIY.
A staple, percussive-heavy stamp of a sound makes for an all-thrills live experience. “I think rhythm is super important, which is probably why I write a lot when I’m walking because there’s movement in your body,” said Channy in a DIY interview last year about the group’s sound. ‘It’s all about moving to the beat. And that’s it, I guess.’
Poliça headline Brighton’s Old Market on 28th June. It’s a 14+ show. Tickets are on sale now in person at Brighton’s Resident Music (01273 606 312) or online through seetickets.com.
