Doechii drops SZA-featuring affirmation ‘girl, get up.’
She’s clapping back at any naysayers with confidence, charisma, and class.

Doechii has capped off what’s been a whirlwind chapter in her career with ‘girl, get up.’ - a mic-drop statement of intent that sees her team up with fellow superstar SZA.
Although 2025 was the year that Doechii finally got her flowers (she headlined Glastonbury’s Woodsies stage in triumphant fashion, and her March single ‘Anxiety’ was a runaway hit), the Florida rapper’s success has by no means happened overnight, and this new cut finds her directly addressing rumours that she’s a so-called “industry plant” with unapologetic, eviscerating bars.
“All that industry plant shit whack / I see it on the blogs, I see you in the chats,” she spits over a dreamy, atmospheric instrumental, deftly asserting her well-earned right to a seat at the table. “Y’all can’t fathom that I work this hard / And y’all can’t fathom that I earned this chart”.
Revisit our verdict on ‘Anxiety’ - dubbed one of DIY’s best tracks of 2025 - and watch the official video for ‘girl, get up.’ below.
