Doldrums shares new track ‘My Friend Simjen’

Airick Woodhead aka Doldrums has shared a new track from his forthcoming LP. ‘My Friend Simjen’ follows last month’s ‘Hotfoot’, and will appear on new album ‘The Air Conditioned Nightmare’, out 6th April via Sub Pop.

‘My Friend Simjen’ is a little less melodic than ‘Hotfoot’, though it’s equally cacophonous. Sub-bass and layered rhythms fall apart and build themselves back together, with Woodhead’s distant vocals stepping into a hyperactive chorus. Another assault on the senses, it ties in with Woodhead’s time living in what he calls a bizarre “neighbourhood speakeasy”, with another violent monster emerging from the pit.
