“Duncan’s dancing style has always been a large part of the Dutch Uncles live experience,” says ‘Oh Yeah’ director Nick Middleton. “He’s got a pretty unique way of dancing and I wanted to just let him do his thing.”
Well, you certainly get a lot of singer and lyricist Duncan Wallis dancing in the video to the latest single from Dutch Uncles’ recent album ‘Big Balloon’. He pulls some of his signature shapes in the clip in a skating rink (the four-wheel kind, not the bladed kind) and is joined by none other than Stealing Sheep for a quick glide around the place.
Apparently Duncan has a bit of a history with all this though, as he explained in a statement: “Yeah, I used to be a skater boy. But like most other fruit-booters I didn’t have the patience to learn boarding or BMXing, so skating became my thing.”
He continued: “I gave up soon after because I refused to wear a helmet but didn’t want to destroy my quite frankly beautiful face or brains, but when Nick suggested a bit of 4-on-4, I couldn’t wait to tear shit up.” And tear shit up they do!
