Earl Sweatshirt releases new album ‘Some Rap Songs’
The follow up to 2015’s ‘I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside’ is here!
Earl Sweatshirt has released a new album!
The release, which is quite sensibly titled ‘Some Rap Songs’, follows on from the release of his 2015 album ‘I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside’. The album is available digitally now and will have a physical release in January.
Speaking about the album, which touches on the death of Earl’s father, South African poet laureate Keorapetse Kgositsile, the rapper says: “Me and my dad had a relationship that’s not uncommon for people to have with their fathers, which is a non-perfect one,” he says. “Talking to him is symbolic and non-symbolic, but it’s literally closure for my childhood. Not getting to have that moment left me to figure out a lot with my damn self.”
He previewed the album with new song ‘The Mint’, featuring a guest spot from Navy Blue, last week.
