Earl Sweatshirt Signs Label Imprint Deal Through Columbia/ Sony

Penning a deal with Columbia/ Sony, the Odd Future member will now release through how own imprint Tan Cressida.

Earl Sweatshirt has probably been the most controversial member of the OFWGKTA collective thus far, but today, he’s marked himself ahead of the pack with the announcement of his own label imprint launch.

Penning a deal with Columbia/ Sony, the Odd Future member will now release through how own imprint Tan Cressida. The remaining OFWGKTA members will work through the Odd Future imprint owned by Sony.

It seems as though works in process include Sweatshirt’s own solo record, alongside a collaboration with Tyler The Creator, set to be titled ‘EarlWolf’.

Having only recently made his debut performance after leaving the Coral Reef Academy in Samoa, Sweatshirt recently gave his first interview, in which he explained the situations that arose when working with Odd Future:

‘Motherf**kers think that my mom heard a song and was like, No, I’m not f**king with this song. [But] I was f**king up. Outside of music, music aside from everything, I was f**king up.’

‘Yeah, initially [I was annoyed to miss it]. I also got to see that all this s**t isn’t fun all the time. For instance, the block that we came up on, like that we were there when no one was there, we get to like just be up there every day like it was nothing, I was up there the other day just trying to like skate around, and you f**king can’t do it. Cause someone’s like, Uh, Can I get a photo?’

Odd Future’s ‘OF Tape Vol. 2’ is out now.
