Enter Shikari announce new album ‘The Mindsweep’
The band will release their fourth record on 19th January through Ambush Reality / Play It Again Sam.
It’s been almost three years since they released an album but now Enter Shikari are back and they’re offering up news of their fourth effort.
Following up 2012’s ‘A Flash Flood Of Colour’, their latest full-length ‘The Mindsweep’ is due for release early next year, on 19th January through Ambush Reality / Play It Again Sam. Recorded at Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire with Dan Weller, the album is set to be twelve tracks in length and was mixed by Jeremy Wheatley (who has previously worked with The Vaccines, Dizzee Rascal and Sugababes) earlier this summer.
Speaking of the new album, frontman Rou Reynolds has said: “We pushed ourselves vocally with some of the rawest angriest vocals we’ve ever done as well as some of the most dulcet and delicate. It’s even more diverse than normal as we’ve built more confidence and fearlessness to widen our influences further. Melody and aggression will always be an important side of what we do, but with this album there was also a concerted effort to concentrate on texture too. Alongside the core of our guitar, bass, drums, electronics set-up, there’s so much new instrumentation and orchestration. Writing for and recording woodwind, brass and strings was so rewarding and really felt like it brought a new dimension to the music.”
The tracklisting for ‘The Mindsweep’ is as follows.
1. The Appeal & The Mindsweep I
2. The One True Colour
3. Anaesthetist
