Erykah Badu links up for Andre 3000 for ‘Hello’

It’s the OutKast member’s sole feature of the year, and he knows how to pick ‘em.

Erykah Badu links up for Andre 3000 for 'Hello'

It takes a brave soul to name their song ‘Hello’ in the immediate aftermath of Adele’s comeback; wits of steel to chuck in the line “hello, it’s me”. Then again, this is Erykah Badu. She’s shared the latest cut from new mixtape ‘But You Caint Use My Phone,’ and produced by newcomer Zach Witness, it’s soulful, sprawling, gold-coated stuff. She’s even thrown in a new take on ‘Hello It’s Me’ - 1972 song by Todd Rundgren.

‘Hello’ features Andre 3000, with whom Badu has one child. It’s the third time they have collaborated together, having previously worked on OutKast tracks ‘Humble Mumble’ and ‘Liberation’. Rapping about giving up veganism, and Kermit the Frog investigating fog density, Andre eventually joins Erykah Badu in singing “don’t change, don’t change, squirrel”.
