Eugene Quell airs new track ‘Alta Loma’
Scuzz wizard plays a free DIY Presents gig in London this week.
Bearded guitar prince Eugene Quell is airing a new track from her ‘A Great Uselessness’ EP, and it’s premiering on DIY.
The new cut follows on from ‘That One Song’, which also features on the new release, out 4th August.
It arrives ahead of a debut headline DIY Presents gig on Thursday night, 3rd July, taking place at London’s Old Blue Last. Anyone considering Quell to be master of the scuzz before now will have their expectations blown - this is a ferocious force like no other, a riff-centric, gigantic blow to the system.
Its title - and mentality - rests in the mountains of California, head pointed to the clouds. Saying that, it’s also a song that belongs equally at home in sweaty venues with the lights dimmed to near complete darkness. It’s a messy motherfucker, in layman’s terms.
We’ve got the first play below. See Eugene Quell at the Old Blue Last for free on 3rd July.
