Exclusive: Listen: The Mynabirds - ‘Body Of Work’
Laura has now emerged with her second album ‘GENERALS’, which gets released on the 4th June.

The Mynabirds - aka Laura Burhenn - has been a busy bee recently, what with touring the world as part of Bright Eyes and all that, but she’s finally taken some time out to record the follow-up to her 2010 debut ‘What We Lose in the Fire We Gain in the Flood’.
Getting back together with producer Richard Swift, Laura has now emerged with her second album ‘GENERALS’, which gets released on the 4th June through Saddle Creek.
In the meantime though, we have an exclusive stream of one of her new tracks, entitled ‘Body Of Work’.
Want to know more about the track itself? Laura has given DIY a little extra insight into it.
”Body of Work’ is a reminder of our absolute power to re-imagine, redesign, and transform our lives at any given moment into something we enjoy to the utmost, something that’s wholly and fully our own. We are not victims of the past, but artists who can shape it into the most brilliant form imaginable; we are living things, bodies of work to edit. I borrowed a little bit from Whitman and Sartre lyrically, and envisioned myself turning from a single stone, into an avalanche, into a herd of wild horses running down a mountainside — embodying power and freedom. All that percussion — it’s meant to be a celebration, a relinquishing of what was to head into the future totally free. ‘
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
