Exclusive: The Social Club Unveil New Video For ‘Hey Presto! Manifesto’

DIY have the exclusive look at the brand new video from The Social Club.

We even managed to get a few words with Lew to find out just what’s going on…

‘Well, the original idea behind the video is that we would all do a montage of training for what you assume is some kind of olympics, but turns out to be a pretentiousness contest. However, that seemed like way too much work, so instead we bought four ladies turtleneck tops and mucked about a bit on a black background.

‘We had the set pieces beforehand, and we were all filmed separately. The magic is really in the edit, thanks to our mate Rik Argent. He came up with loads of ideas and then painstakingly edited them all together. It’s got a nice ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ meets Holly from Red Dwarf quality to it.’

‘Hey Presto! Manifesto’ comes from the band’s latest EP ‘For Dancing’, which was released back in March.

The second instalment of their three-part EP series was released through Alcopop! Records, and you can, no doubt, expect part three very soon.

The Social Club will support The Swellers at their Old Blue Last show on Sunday 13th May.
