Ezra Furman shares next album preview ‘Jump Out’
Her tenth LP, ‘Goodbye Small Head’, arrives in May.
Ezra Furman has offered up a second taste of what to expect from her forthcoming album ‘Goodbye Small Head’ in the form of angsty new cut ‘Jump Out’.
A raw, rough-edged cry of a song, backed by increasingly frantic strings, ‘Jump Out’ has been described by Ezra as “a panicked rocker for that moment when you realize you are going to have to leap from a moving vehicle, because the driver has no intention of letting you out.”
Introduced via February single ‘Grand Mal’, ‘Goodbye Small Head’ is due out on 16th May via Bella Union and will be Ezra’s tenth record - the follow-up to 2022’s ‘All Of Us Flames’.
Writing in her self-penned bio, Ezra has said of the LP: “Is it dark? Yeah! Is it also wonder-struck, laced with psychedelic beauty, triumphant in its wounded way? Yeah again. And by the end of it, the whole thing flames out in a burst of good old-fashioned rock and roll, a desperate cover of under-appreciated genius Alex Walton’s bottomlessly yearning ‘I Need the Angel’.

What’s more, Ezra will be hitting the road this Spring to begin an extensive run of tour dates that’ll take her across the UK and North America - catch her live this year on the following dates:
