Fall Out Boy announce new album ‘American Beauty/American Psycho’, debut radical new sound with title track
You’ll never believe what Fall Out Boy have come up with now (no, really, you won’t).
Fall Out Boy have announced details of their new album, ‘American Beauty/American Psycho’. The band’s sixth studio album will be released on 19th January in the UK, and a day later on 20th January worldwide.
The album’s title track, premiered on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio One show earlier this evening (24th November), is a radical change in direction for the band, described by Pete Wentz as “turning left when everyone expected us to turn right.”
Fall Out Boy have been teasing new material since September, when they debuted ‘Centuries’. “With this song, Patrick [Stump] just put his foot to the pedal and woosh out it came,” bassist Pete Wentz explained at the time.
“I was like, ‘Holy shit, we haven’t even finished touring the last record yet!’ But it felt like the song was that imminent that we needed to do it.”
