Fat White Family Announce Show To Fundraise SXSW Trip
Fat Whites have the funds needed for a Stateside trip, but they’re playing one more fundraising show this weekend.
Brixton pub-dwellers Fat White Family, independent and proud, last month started a PledgeMusic to help fund a trip to the US, more specifically Austin Texas’ SXSW Festival.
The band promised ‘drum lessons with Dan’, a ‘night out with the band’ and other such treats in return for good old fashioned cash (via Paypal…).
Since then the Fat Whites have received 119 separate pledges, totally to 115% of their initial goal. They’ve made it, right?
Well, as a means of ensuring this SXSW trip even more and maybe even paying for a few extra tacos in the Deep South, they’re playing a special fundraising show in Shapes, East London, this Saturday on 1st March. Tickets are priced at £10. ‘Money was raised, but not quite enough,’ reads a press release, which is a bit strange when weighed up against the big fat 115% statistic on the band’s Pledge Fund.
