Father John Misty joins the Grim Reaper in claymation video for new track ‘Please Don’t Die’
The video, for the ‘God’s Favorite Customer’ track, was created by Chris Hopewell, responsible for past clips from Radiohead, Run The Jewels and more.
You all remember Radiohead’s claymation video for ‘Burn The Witch’ from back in 2016, right? Well the artist behind it - Chris Hopewell - has lent his hand to Father John Misty’s new video for ‘Please Don’t Die’.
The brilliant clip, for the latest preview of Papa John’s upcoming LP ‘God’s Favorite Customer’, out Friday (1st June), sees claymation Josh Tillman sitting in a lonely hotel room, before taking a ride with the Grim Reaper down the River Styx and uncovering all manner of wonders, before narrowly avoiding the singer’s untimely death. Let’s just say, it’s quite a trip.
‘God’s Favorite Customer’ follows last year’s ‘Pure Comedy’, and is set to be taken on a huge world tour, which stopped in London’s Victoria Park as part of the inaugural All Points East festival at the weekend.
