Father John Misty is set to record a ‘Live At Third Man’ album
A solo acoustic performance by Papa John will be captured for the record next week!

So then, in September Father John Misty revealed that his new album was “pretty much done”.
Yep, the follow up to ‘Pure Comedy’ is said to be 10 tracks long, is going to be released next year and will feature what Josh calls “spritely BPMs”. But in the meantime, while we’re waiting for that already much-anticipated release, Papa John is set to record yet another new record. Okay, well, this one is a live album, but it’s still an album.
He’ll be taking to Jack White’s Third Man Records in Nashville next week (Tuesday 26th September to be precise) for a solo acoustic show, which will then be released as part of the label’s ‘Live At Third Man Records’ series. Anyone lucky enough to actually be at the performance can pre-order the album now (and one lucky so-and-so will get a 10” vinyl of the record the very same day). Find out more about the event via Third Man Records here.
Earlier in the year, we caught up with Papa John to talk about ‘Pure Comedy’. Catch up here.
