First Aid Kit Reveal New Album Details

First Aid Kit have announced details of their second album, set for release next year.

Titled ‘The Lion’s Roar’, the record will be released on 24th January 2012. Recorded with Bright Eyes’ Mike Mogis, the band describe it as taking ‘First Aid Kit to a new level’ in a posting on their official site.

Speaking to DIY about the recording earlier this year, the duo explained: “Our last record was recorded at home with our Father and we were producing it ourselves. Now we’ve a completely different perspective on our music; we’ve been working in a completely different way. We’ve definitely grown musically.”

“We were nervous sometimes, if we had enough songs, but once we knew we were recording with Mike we got inspired and wrote so many - it was amazing. We’re huge fans of Bright Eyes so working with Mike and being in Omaha was like our dream. It’s really helped us.’

The band have also announced a batch of new live dates, including the previously revealed one off show at London’s Bush Hall.

They read:

November
11 Troubadour, Los Angeles, CA
16 Mercury Lounge, New York, LA
28 Mosebacke, Stockholm
30 Nefertiti, Göteborg

December
2 Victoriateatern, Malmo
5 Berghain Kantine, Berlin
6 Bush Hall, London
8 Paradisio, Amsterdam
