Just a couple of hours on from ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’’s early release, Flying Lotus took to Twitter to explain how he gave Kendrick Lamar the initial inspiration to make the album.

FlyLo’s beats help make up opening track ‘Wesley’s Theory’, which also features George Clinton. When the album came out, Steven Ellison discussed how his first beats package to Kendrick helped form the LP.

Earlier today it emerged that Sufjan Stevens and Pharrell Williams have credits on the new album - the former is sampled on ‘Hood Politics’.
