Flying Lotus To Score Film At Sundance Festival 2014

Flying Lotus has provided the score for ‘Imperial Dreams’, which makes its debut at Sundance.

Yesterday we ran through the list of musicians

set to make an impact at the Sundance Film Festival 2014. Ben Gibbard’s scoring a film, ‘Laggies’, Belle and Sebastian’s Stuart Murdoch is presenting his ‘God Help The Girl’ screening, and The Beastie Boys’ Ad-Rock is responsible for the music behind a new documentary, ‘No-No’.

Prolific producer Flying Lotus is also getting involved, as it turns out. He first made a contribution to Sundance in 2012 by in-part soundtracking ‘An Oversimplification of Her Beauty’. His 2014 involvement is with ‘Imperial Dreams’, a Malik Vitthal-directed film in which a 21 year old, reformed gangster is released from prison and exposed once more to Watts, Los Angeles.

A new Flying Lotus album is expected this year. He recently shared a .zip file’s worth of new and discarded material; ‘Ideas + Drafts + Loops’.

The 2014 Sundance Film Festival takes place from 16th-24th January.
