Foals unveil emotional new track ‘Into The Surf’
It’s our latest glimpse into the group’s forthcoming record ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 2’.
With 18th October getting closer and closer, Foals have shared the latest teaser of ‘Everything Not Save Will Be Lost - Part 2’ with new track ‘Into The Surf’. Following previous releases ‘Black Bull’ and ‘The Runner’, the new track shows the group’s slower melancholic side, with Yannis’ haunting vocals ringing out over the sizzlingly ethereal soundtrack.
“There are threads that run through all these [final] songs, and on ‘Into the Surf’ there’s this shadow of death, of someone not returning from a voyage,” Yannis told us in a track-by-track run through of their upcoming album in our September Issue. “There’s a type of Greek folk song that’s always to do with the immigration of Greek people and how dying on foreign shores is always viewed as the worst fate – to die far away from your home and your family. ‘Surf Pt I’ [from the first record] is a chop out of a part of ‘Into the Surf’ and I thought it was nice to have that link as a tease.”
