Fontaines DC announce massive Finsbury Park headline show

Fontaines DC have announced their biggest headline show to date, playing London’s Finsbury Park on 5th July, 2025.

Our current July/ August issue cover stars will take to the outdoor stage in support of forthcoming fourth album ‘Romance’ - set for release on 23rd August via XL Recordings - with Aussie punks Amyl and the Sniffers, and Irish rap trio Kneecap also announced for the show.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am next Friday (9th August). Watch an announcement video, filmed at Finsbury Park and featuring a snippet of ‘Romance”s title track, below.

Ahead of the release, frontman Grian Chatten spoke to DIY about the new direction of the Dublin band’s fourth LP. “It was important for me to not have the album be placed in a ‘Dogrel’-shaped box, and I think people are capable of doing that. People want so much for us to write ‘Boys in the Better Land’ over and over again that they’ll be like, ‘Oh, [new single] ‘Favourite’, that’s a bit like ‘Boys in the Better Land’’. So, with the visuals and everything, I just wanted to make sure that you couldn’t do that,” he said. “I think to keep people… not confused, but to make people feel like they don’t fucking know who we are fully is a very important thing for me. And that involves maybe disappointing people or freaking people out.” Read the full feature online or in the July/ August print issue.

Fontaines DC will also be heading out on a winter tour ahead of their Finsbury Park date, including two sold out nights at London’s Alexandra Palace and two homecoming shows at Dublin’s 3 Arena. Support across the tour comes from Sorry and DIIV.
