Gambles returns with ‘New Moon Move’ and ‘Vicious Times’
Folk songwriter is following up debut album ‘Trust’.
Back in 2013, Matthew Siskin aka Gambles put out his debut solo album ‘Trust’. He’s since removed pretty much all trace of that release, however, starting from scratch with a duo of tracks - ‘New Moon Move’ and ‘Vicious Times’.
The former is a drastic flip on Siskin’s previous folk routine. Here, there’s more onus on empty space and a dark, post punk-inspired atmosphere. It breaks into a ferocious, barking burst of white noise. ‘Vicious Times’ might help explain this dramatic switch. Instead of romantically-inspired songwriting, Gambles is matching the severity of a ruthless modern age - at least that’s the impressing he’s giving here.
