Girl Band burst into life with new ‘De Bom Bom’ video
Irish band bring the thrashing force of a stampede with their brilliant new single.
Black-and-white, simple to the core, essentially just a series of overlapping images - Irish Girl Band’s new video still manages to say more than a bunch of over-elaborate concepts could ever hope to achieve. This is one of the most exciting live bands around at their best, in their environment, where every crackling element threatens to steer off course.
Unnervingly dark, the new video for ‘De Bom Bom’ shows Girl Band thriving in bleak surroundings. As guitars stab and saw their way through consciousness, and frontman Dara Kiely proudly declares “I swear to God to Bom Bom Bom!”, the only sense of normality is a barely-there sight of instruments being strummed in the background.
‘De Bom Bom’ is Girl Band’s new single, out today on Any Other City Records. It’s out on a 500-edition 7” alongside a newly unveiled cover of Beat Happening.
