Girli confirms details of next album ‘It’s Just My Opinion’
Her third full-length is due out in May.

Alt-pop purveyor girli is back with the news that her latest LP, ‘it’s just my opinion’ - the follow up to 2024’s ‘Matriarchy’ - will hit shelves on 8th May via Believe Music.
The announcement comes in the wake of the release of her confronting recent single ‘Slap On The Wrist’ (as well as last year’s ‘Better Undressed’), but has been formally introduced by way of new track ‘Romantic Sadness’ - a melancholy banger that explores the dismal aftermath of a breakup, when not even rose-tinted glasses ease the pain..
“This song is based on something my younger sister said to me,” girli has noted, explaining that “she was going through a breakup, and she said ‘it’s hard when you can’t even romanticise the sadness anymore, and it’s just sad’. I knew I had to write a song about that, about the way we try to romanticise our lives to cope with difficult things and seek comfort in feeling like our life is the plot of an arty indie movie.”
It’s the next instalment of what promises to be a whole new era for girli, as she leans further into the indie sleaze legacy of her North London childhood. Check out the full tracklist of ‘it’s just my opinion’ and watch the video for ‘Romantic Sadness’ below.
