Girlpool air new song ‘Soup’
The band performed their recent live staple in San Francisco.
Girlpool have been airing a brand new song called ‘Soup’ during live shows recently, and now there’s proper footage of the duo performing the track in San Francisco. It was filmed by PressureDrop.TV at the city’s Bunker venue.
“We walk to the trash can to throw out the soup,” starts the song, which takes its name from the world’s finest liquid dinner. Far from being an ode dedicated to croutons and Heinz products, though, this builds up into a chiming, confiding story - “your dad saw you crying when you looked at the world.”
Girlpool released their debut album ‘Before The World Was Big’ earlier this year. Read the DIY interview with the band here, and watch them perform ‘Soup’ below.
