Glass Animals cover the Dixie Cups at BBC Radio 1’s Maida Vale

Oxford four-piece release new album ‘How to Be a Human Being’ this month.

Earlier this week, Oxford group Glass Animals visited BBC Radio 1’s Maida Vale for a live session.

Previewing tracks from new album ‘How to Be a Human Being’, they played latest singles ‘Youth’ and ‘Life Itself’.

Dave Bayley and co also squeezed in an amazing cover of Dixie Cups’ ‘Iko Iko’. Listen to the whole session below.

In the latest issue of DIY, Glass Animals tell us all about the strange real-life characters who helped form their new album. “This taxi driver - he tells you a story in this almost light-hearted way, with a smile on his face. These really gut-wrenching, scary stories, told with a kind of cheekiness. That’s one of the things that some of the lyrics have - a cheekiness on the surface,” Dave says.
