Gold Panda releases surprise, Brexit-inspired ‘Kingdom’ EP
The new short-player comes just a matter of weeks after the producer’s latest album.
Hopping aboard the surprise release train, Gold Panda has shared ‘Kingdom’, a brand new EP.
Inspired in part by the UK’s recent vote to leave the European Union, it finds the producer’s recent upbeat temperament put to one side for a second. “It was made after talking to a neighbour who moved his family from Afghanistan to the UK,” explains the producer. “He ordered a phone off Amazon so he could call home, but the delivery driver signed for it and kept it. I thought this was a pretty shitty welcome. I made a couple of less happy songs that are very very loosely based around that and my Brexit fears, which were sadly confirmed”
Listen to ‘Kingdom’ below. We recently caught up with Gold Panda to talk all things new album ‘Good Luck And Do Your Best’.
