Gorillaz might be airing brand new music this Saturday!

After a flurry of mysterious behaviour on social media, Gorillaz have dropped their biggest hint yet about new music. Noodle has suggested that a new track will be played this weekend on the radio.

The animated guitarist posted a picture based around the logo for Beats 1 show Soulection. The post also tags DJ Gilles Peterson, who regularly presents that show. Noodle’s made liberal use of the emoji keyboard, too, adding a couple of music notes, a radio, and some lightning for good measure.

Soulelection airs at 7pm Pacific time every Saturday night (so 2am for any Brits). Ears on alert for new music from Gorillaz.

Last month the speculation-mill went into overdrive as the cartoon band started posting some fairly nostalgic things online. They’ve also shared a ‘The Book of Noodle’ origin story for the guitarist, and drummer Russel Hobbs said in an interview that “what is coming will come, whether you expect it or not.” Helpful stuff, Russ.
