Gorillaz drop hypnotic new single ‘The Manifesto’
Damon Albarn’s digital innovators have done it again.

Having returned last month with the news that their new album is arriving next Spring (on 20th March 2026, to be precise), Gorillaz have now offered up another taste of what to expect from ‘The Mountain’.
New single ‘The Manifesto’ (feat. Trueno and Proof) follows Sparks collab ‘The Happy Dictator’ to be our second preview of the record, and it’s a seven-minute meander through body-moving beats and infectious, Eastern-influenced rhythms that come courtesy of famed entertainers Jea Band Jaipur, sarod players, and the LP’s own Mountain Choir.
Encapsulating the album’s themes of life, death, and rebirth, ‘The Manifesto’ sees Argentine rap sensation Trueno bolding declare “I walk toward the light / I have nothing to lose”, while the track’s midpoint is marked by a disarming posthumous flow from the late rapper and former Gorillaz collaborator Proof.
“As space dust we are here forever and that’s a mighty long time,” drummer Russel Hobbs has mused. “This is a musical meditation infused with light. A journey of the soul, with beats…“
