Gorillaz confirm ninth album ‘The Mountain’ with new Sparks collab ‘The Happy Dictator’
The band have also unveiled plans for a 2026 tour, including their first ever stadium show in London.

Fresh from playing a run of four special commemorative shows, Gorillaz are back with the news that their next album, ‘The Mountain’, will be released on 20th March 2026 via their newly-founded own label, KONG.
The follow up to 2023’s ‘Cracker Island’, it’ll be the ninth LP from Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s visionary digital band, and is set to be a true embodiment of Gorillaz’s expansive, collaborative ethos, with the likes of Johnny Marr, IDLES, and Jalen Ngonda all set to feature on different tracks. Movingly, ‘The Mountain’ will also include the voices of late friends and musicians, including Bobby Womack, Mark E Smith, and Tony Allen.
Recorded between London, Devon, India, Ashgabat, Damascus, Los Angeles, Miami and New York, the album contains five languages - Arabic, English, Hindi, Spanish and Yoruba - while conceptually, it finds the band in Mumbai, rejecting fame in favour of more mysterious landscapes and sonic terrains.
“As space dust we are here forever and that’s a mighty long time,” drummer Russel Hobbs has said. “This is a musical meditation infused with light. A journey of the soul, with beats…“
