Green Day Preview New Single, To Release Two Documentaries

Green Day are seemingly only letting us know a snippet of information at a time when it comes to the release of their next musical project, and here’s a few more.

First up, after premiering a video trailer for each of their forthcoming albums, the band have now revealed a preview of forthcoming single ‘Oh Love’.

Due to be released in full on Monday 16th July, you can get a taste of what to expect from the first new Green Day offering in three years below.



Green Day have also revealed that they plan to release two documentary films alongside their three new albums; one of which will be made by Tim Lynch - the man behind ‘Green Day: Bullet in a Bible’, whilst the other has been taken on by Tim Wheeler (‘The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights’). The first looks set to have documented the making of their latest project, whilst the second takes a look at the band’s pre-‘Dookie’ era.

The full trio of records - titled ‘¡UNO! ¡DOS! ¡TRE!’ are set to be released on 25th September, 13th November and 15th January of next year. Recorded in the band’s hometown of Oakland, California, long time collaborator Rob Cavallo will produce.

Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong revealed this information on his Twitter, alongside the following statement from the band themselves.

‘We are at the most prolific and creative time in our lives. This is the best music we’ve ever written, and the songs just keep coming.

‘Instead of making one album, we are making a three album trilogy. Every song has the power and energy that represents Green Day on all emotional levels. We just can’t help ourselves… We are going epic as fuck!’
