Ready, Able:
Grizzly Bear start recording their new album next month
The Brooklyn band’s follow-up to ‘Shields’ is on the way.
Grizzly Bear have lifted the lid on plans to start recording on their new album, next month. The Brooklyn band shared the news on Twitter, along with celebrating the fact that drummer Christopher Bear has had a baby! They’re also playing a Bernie Sanders rally. Celebrations all round, then.
This’ll be Grizzly Bear’s first record since 2012’s ‘Shields’. News of the follow-up comes shortly after the band’s Bear and Ed Droste guested on The National’s upcoming ‘Day of the Dead’ Grateful Dead tribute compilation. Inbetween albums, members have been focusing on other projects, with the band’s Daniel Rossen commenting on a solo tour that “we don’t have a clear plan. We tend to like to let the records come together naturally.”
