Hear Charli XCX’s new track, ‘Breaking Up’

It’s been a hectic week for October cover star Charli XCX. After sharing a fourth new track, the brilliant ‘Gold Coins’ (which is taken from her new album ‘Sucker’) last week, Charli then announced via Twitter that she will be performing on Saturday Night Live #SNL40. Then over the weekend, she unveiled ‘Breaking Up’, another newbie from her new LP.

Like ‘Gold Coins’, Charli channels a similar pop-punk energy in ‘Breaking Up’, scuzzy guitar riffs being met with a sonic middle finger to a recent ex. Listen to new track below.

Last night, Charli performed two songs as part of the 2014 American Music Awards (AMAs), which also set sets from Taylor Swift, Sam Smith and Nicki Minaj. Charli played a mini-medley, showcasing ‘Boom Clap’ and ‘Break the Rules’. Watch the performance below.
