Hear Foo Fighters cover Kim Wilde’s ‘Kids In America’

Two tracks, including the cover, have appeared online from their Record Store Day release.

This year, Foo Fighters’ leader Dave Grohl was announced as the ambassador for this year’s Record Store Day, so obviously, they were one of the many artists to offer up a special release for the occasion.

The quintet’s release came in the form of ‘Songs From The Laundry Room’; a four-song 10” boasting two demos, a previously-unreleased offering and a cover of Kim Wilde’s ‘Kids In America’. Released on Saturday (18th April), two of the band’s tracks have now appeared online.

Listen to the cover of Wilde’s infamous track - which was originally recorded in 1991 by Grohl - along with the previously-unreleased ‘Empty Handed’ below. The band’s 1995 demos of ‘Alone + Easy Target’ and ‘Big Me’ are yet to emerge.

The band also made a special live appearance as part of RSD’s celebrations at The Record Connection in Niles, Ohio. According to Consequence of Sound, their nine-song set included live renditions of ‘Alone + Easy Target’, their ‘Kids In America’ cover, along with performances of ‘The Pretender’ and ‘White Limo’.
