‘Heavens Above,’ Yak have a new song out!

‘Heavens Above,’ indeed! Yak have a brand new song out, and there’s a b-side on the way too.

Their new double single - which also includes a track called ‘Semi-Automatic’ - is out on 28th October on Octopus Electrical Records. It was produced by Pulp man Steve Mackey, and it’s the last thing Oli Burslem are planning on releasing before squirrelling away in the studio to work on album number two.

Biting new single ‘Heavens Above’ spirals and snarls atop fuzzed up squalls, Oli insisting “I’ll be a better man,” over and over.

“In-between touring in August we managed to squeeze a day in the studio with Mr Mackey and put down 4 tracks that we had written on the road,” explained Oli in a press release. “‘Heavens Above’ and ‘Semi-Automatic’ are a result of that session and will be the last thing we release before disappearing and getting ready to record the next record. Both tracks are a simple and direct response to what is current and what we have seen, read and been part of over the period since the band started touring”
