Hydra Fest mystery has Fall Out Boy fans angry

No news isn’t good news, as there’s no official statement regarding the Mexican event.

Back in July, DCD2 (that’s Pete Wentz’ re-launched label) announced they’d be presenting a four-day residential music festival in Mexico next April.

Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, Travie McCoy, New Politics and Lolo would be heading to the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya alongside fans for four nights of live music at a 2,500-capacity venue.

Last week, news circulated that the event was to be “postponed”, as ticket holders were sent an email citing “circumstances beyond our control”.

“Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control,” it said, “we have to postpone Hydra Fest. We’re so grateful for the love and support that you have shown us and we’re really sorry to have to do this at this time. Full refunds of all Hydra Fest packages are being processed today, there is no need for you to take any action. You will see a credit within 5-7 days on the credit card used to make the purchase and this includes the amount you have paid toward your room, extra nights, ground transportation and travel insurance. For anyone who has already cancelled their room, your cancellation fees will be automatically refunded as well. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact [email protected].

“We are going to reschedule the event again soon, which you will have first dibs on (including advance purchase + first access). We’ll let you know when we are able to put it back in the calendar.”

That’s all fans have heard so far, though, despite Fall Out Boy’s own online presence. And, reports Property of Zack, all social accounts purporting to the festival have been wiped, and the official site only directs to Fall Out Boy’s own tour dates.

Fall Out Boy’s only scheduled live appearances following their Jimmy Kimmel Live show this week are at Soundwave Festival in Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney in Spring 2015.
