Iggy Pop won’t play replacement shows in place of Foo Fighters support dates

Iggy Pop has publicly confirmed that he won’t be playing any replacement shows, after Foo Fighters cancelled their UK shows, which he was set to support.

The punk legend was set to support for both Wembley Stadium dates, but he’s since said that he won’t be doing any last-minute gigs, after Foos pulled out of all UK tour commitments.

In a statement, Iggy said: “Firstly - get well, Dave, it was hell of a fall! Those decisions are never easy. This also means, folks, that you’ll have to wait a week longer to see Iggy on stage. His first solo performance will now be Down The Rabbit Hole Festival in Holland on June 27.”

Foo Fighters issued a statement last night (16th June), saying frontman Dave Grohls “recuperation time is still to be determined,” after he broke a leg by falling off stage in Sweden. They’ve been replaced as Glastonbury headliners by Florence + The Machine.
