Interpol, The War on Drugs, Sleater-Kinney to play BBC 6 Music Festival
Tyneside hosts the fest’s second year - we’ll be updating the acts playing.
Lauren Laverne has announced details for the second ever BBC 6 Music Festival, taking place in Tyneside this year on 20th-22nd February.
With more acts to be announced throughout the day, so far New Yorkers Interpol and Hot Chip - readying their new album - are the big draws.
The War on Drugs, Sleater-Kinney, Jungle, The Fall, Father John Misty, Kate Tempest and local heroes Maximo Park have also been confirmed, with Neneh Cherry, Jon Hopkins and Young Fathers both set to play.
Tickets will be available via from the end of January, with details set to be announced. The final bands will be confirmed by 9pm tonight.
Paul Rodgers from BBC 6 Music had this to say about the festival: “Building on the success of last year’s inaugural 6 Music Festival in Salford, we are proud to announce its return in 2015 on Tyneside. The festival brings together the most exciting alternative music of the moment, as well as championing emerging and established artists which represent the range of diverse music played on the station every day.”
