Izzy Bizu is BBC Introducing’s artist of the year
Previous winners have included Jack Garratt and Catfish and the Bottlemen.
This year’s BBC Introducing artist of the year has been named as singer Izzy Bizu.
Scooping the gong rounds off a massive year for the Londonder, in which she’s released her debut album ‘A Moment Of Madness,’ been nominated for a MOBO Award, and even sang the BBC’s Euro 2016 theme, a version of Edith Piaf’s ‘La Foule.’ Last year she was also nominated for the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award after releasing her hit single ‘White Tiger.’
Jason Carter, head of BBC Introducing, said that “”Izzy is a huge talent that I’m certain will be a huge success story both at home and abroad. I’m proud of the part BBC Introducing has played in launching her career and look forward to supporting her in the years to come.”
Izzy joins the likes of Jack Garratt and Catfish and the Bottlemen as winners of the award.
