Jamie xx shares visual stream of debut album ‘In Colour’
June’s DIY cover star releases his first work next week.
Jamie xx is streaming his debut album ‘In Colour’ one week ahead of release.
The full-length is streaming on iTunes as a visual album - it’s an ever-changing, forty-minutes long, seamless visual companion to his record, and it’s the first time Apple has ever hosted a stream in this form.
Speaking to DIY about the album’s sleeve, as part of this month’s cover feature, Jamie said: “I definitely wanted to use the whole spectrum, because there are a lot of different shades on the record. It’s pretty different to both of The xx albums, in that way. But I also wanted to use the black-and-white from The xx logo on both sides of the vinyl. So one side is white and one side is black, just to reference that part of us is still obviously there.”
