Jodie Abacus and SOHN team up on ‘Keep Your Head Down’

South London singer-songwriter Jodie Abacus has teamed up with SOHN for a brand new track.

Released on 10th February, ‘Keep Your Head Down’ has been inspired by a television piece Jodie saw about refugees on the same day he was due to go into the studio with SOHN and Nick Ruth. The result is a soulful, surprisingly upbeat pop track that takes aim at some people’s’ lack of a “welcome mat” for refugees, pointing out that their only crime is that they’re running away from “smoke and fire”.

In a statement accompanying the video, Jodie said: “I wanted to sympathise and put myself in their shoes to express what it could be like to flee your country with your family in the midst of war and destruction in the hopes of finding safety in a Western country, only to not be accepted there. That absolute feeling of total unease and desperation… We’re safe here, but we can only imagine.”
