Joesef explores the “right person, wrong time” in new song ‘Borderline’

His debut album ‘Permanent Damage’ is out this month.

Ahead of the release of his highly-anticipated debut album ‘Permanent Damage’ on 13th January via AWAL, Joesef is unveil his newest single ‘Borderline’. “‘Borderline’ was the last song I’d written for the album,” Joesef explains. “It’s a very literal conversational song, and the production is all so close. I wanted it to feel like you are in the room there with us. Sometimes when a song is written with this pace, with a sort of gentleness to it, there is this tendency to want to speed it up or make it bigger. We tried a few things but nothing felt as true to the story as the version you can hear on the album. I still find it quite difficult to listen to. It’s about knowing you’ll never be able to be the version of yourself that someone who otherwise would have been perfect deserves, a right person, wrong time kind of song.” Have a listen below. ‘Permanent Damage’ Tracklisting: 1.
