Shura has always had links to the jungle. “I spent one month tied to a puma in the Bolivian Amazon,” she told DIY, “walking him around. I walked him every day for a few hours, sometimes longer if he didn’t want to go home. It was like Tomb Raider.” She’s also sung the praises of the mysterious nu-discoey duo of the same name, JUNGLE, in the past. “I fucking love it when people are mysterious,” she told us, “like JUNGLE.”
It would seem that JUNGLE feel the same way, because they’ve given Shura’s latest single ‘Indecision’ the remix treatment. Holding back slightly from the euphoric ‘Holiday’-by-Madonna chord stabs of the original, they’ve opted for a twinkling, swooping re-imagining, embellished by little sprinklings of noodling electric guitar. “You’ve got my love, boy” is still the main refrain, the melody is every bit as infectious, but this time the heartache is on the neon-tiled dancefloor.
