Kanye West emerges as favourite to headline Glastonbury
Kanye’s the frontrunner to headline this year’s event.
Kanye West has emerged as the favourite for a Glastonbury headline slot after a surge of bets were placed over the weekend. Sunday saw a flurry of punters backing Kanye to play The Pyramid Stage on Saturday, with odds going from 12/1 to 2/1 before betting was suspended.
Rumours have circled for a number of years about a potential Kanye Glastonbury appearance, but on his current trajectory, the time could surely never have been more right.
Bookmaker and wordplay enthusiasts Paddy Power said: “It looks as though it will be Kanye to touch the sky at Glastonbury this year as the welly-weaing crowd are flashing lights”
The news comes after Foo Fighters were announced as the first headliner for the Worthy Farm bash at last month’s NME Awards. Elsewhere on the bill, Years & Years, Courtney Barnett, Father John Mistry and Lionel Ritchie have all be confirmed to play.
