Kanye West thanks Cher for outstanding services to auto-tune

These days auto-tune is the staple of everyone from James Blake to will.i.am. It wasn’t always that way. Auto-tune was popularised by a brave and trailbrazing pioneer - Cher. In 1998 she released inspirational pop banger ‘Believe,’ and music has never looked back.

On Cher’s twitter (which is well worth a follow for her unique use of language and the return key alone,) she said that when she met Kanye West and Kim Kardashian at the Met Gala this week, Kanye thanked her for her outstanding services to auto-tune.

In related Cher news, she tweeted yesterday that she’s going back into the studio on 1st June to begin work on her next album. Kanye, meanwhile, has re-named his new album. ‘So Help Me God’ is now called ‘SWISH’.
