Kim Gordon and Bill Nace are releasing a new Body/Head album
The follow up to their ‘Coming Apart’ debut is due next month.
Ever the busy-bee, former Sonic Youther Kim Gordon has about a million projects on the go; from solo track ‘Murdered Out’ and starring in a short film by Carrie Brownstein, to her Glitterburst band and a feature-spot on Peaches’ latest album.
Not content with all of those different outlets, Kim Gordon’s also putting out her second album with guitarist Bill Nace. The pair have a no-wave project called Body/Head, and released their debut album ‘Coming Apart’ in 2013. In our review we called their first work “an animal soup of swirling madness and mind-boggling flavours, inside a giant Thermos flask of fucked up weirdness.” A compliment, by the way.
Continuing the theme of experimental weirdness the second time around, Body/Head’s new album - appropriately titled ‘No Waves’ - documents a single improvisational performance the duo did in 2014, at Knoxville’s avant-garde Big Ears Festival.
It’s out on 11th November via Matador.
