Kurt Cobain documentary ‘Montage of Heck’ to be released with book
The HBO film and accompanying book will be released in April.
The Kurt Cobain documentary ‘Montage of Heck’ is set to be released by HBO this April, and now it’s been announced that there will be a book to accompany the film.
The book is set to feature a contribution by the documentary’s Brett Morgen, alongside rare photographs from Cobain’s own personal archive and exclusive interviews, which also appear in the film.
The project, which has seen Morgen at the helm since the start of its development back in 2006, has also been presided over by Cobain’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain, who has acted as executive producer for the documentary.
In an official description by HBO, the film is set to gain a “no-holds-barred access to Cobain’s archives, home to his never-before-seen home movies, recordings, artwork, photography, journals, demos, personal archives and songbooks.”
‘Montage of Heck’ - which takes it name from a mixtape made by Kurt Cobain after it was circulated online last year - will also feature original and unheard music, and is due to be released in UK cinemas this Spring.
