L.A. Witch motor ahead on ‘Drive Your Car’

Back in June, Californian trio L.A. Witch revealed that they’d be releasing their self-titled debut album via Suicide Squeeze Records on 8th September.

After unveiling both ‘Brian’ and ‘Untitled’ so far, they’ve now shared another new cut. ‘Drive Your Car’ is yet another lo-fi, scuzzy number with fuzzed-out yet jangly guitars and an underlying sense of menace. You could say it’s helping to put L.A. Witch in the driving seat (sorry).

In the words of singer Sade Sanchez, “‘Drive Your Car’ was written about power and being in control. I borrowed my ex boyfriend’s Cadillac when he was out of town during one Christmas a few years ago. I drove it recklessly, like a mad man. I drove Vincent Gallo’s Tesla through Korea Town one night with him in passenger seat. I felt liberated and I don’t know why. To be behind the wheel of a car, which could be a man’s most prized possession, is a sense of power. There is constant repetition throughout the song to give the sense of driving”.

L.A. Witch are also set to head out on a little tour of the UK next month! They’ll be heading to Bristol, Brighton, London and Glasgow before rounding off the voyage at Liverpool Psych Fest. Tickets are on sale now.
