Laura Marling announces new project LUMP with Mike Lindsay, shares first track ‘Curse Of The Contemporary’
The duo’s self-titled debut album will come out on 1st June via Dead Oceans.
Laura Marling has announced a new project called LUMP, a collaboration with GRAMMY and BRIT-nominated songwriter Mike Lindsay. The pair will release their self-titled debut album on 1st June via Dead Oceans, and have shared its first track.
‘Curse Of The Contemporary’ previews the album, which will be taken on a UK tour including two shows in a day at London’s Oslo in June. It also comes complete with a new video, directed by Esteban Diacono.
Talking about the new clip, Esteban says: “For me it was very important that this video was respectful of the spirit of Laura and Mike’s collaboration. I wanted to create a video that was joyful and interesting while at the same time retaining an innocent and tender overall vibe.
“I also wanted to touch on some of the topics that were important to Laura’s lyrics, but under a different look. Visually, I took inspiration from the idea of California as a Dream Factory, from the idea of big movie sets that could transform themselves, give shape and colour to dreams and spark the imagination.
