Liima explore the skyline in their new video for ‘2-Hearted’
The Danish-Finnish band are set to release their new album ‘1982’ next month.

On 3rd November, Danish-Finnish band Liima – made up of members of Efterklang as well as drummer Tatu Rönkkö – are set to release their new album ‘1982’ on City Slang.
With a couple of weeks to go before the album’s release, the band have shared ‘2-Hearted’, an atmospheric number that contrasts the mechanical nature of the auto-tuned vocals and arpeggiated synths with organic basslines and percussion.
Speaking of the track, frontman Casper Clausen said: “2-Hearted is about a conflict of the love for 2 different directions - wanting 2 different people or opposite directions in life at the same time, and to find an acceptance within the situation rather than a choice. We wrote this song in Viseu, Portugal at the Jardins Efemeros Festival. It’s the first song we have made using the often-damned auto-tune effect. We feel the auto-tune contra the clean vocal fits the duality of this song”.
The track also has an accompanying video, directed by London-based Greek artist and photographer Mariana Bisti. Based on an original work of hers called ‘wěndìng fánróng’ (which is Mandarin for stability & prosperity), it was filmed as part of a 10-week artist-in-residence stay in Hong Kong. The contrast between the living spaces and their barren nature as the camera swoops around the city tie into the dual themes of the personal and impersonal that surrounds ‘1982’ as a whole.
Liima are also heading out on a large tour of Europe early next year. After touring around the continent, the band will head to the UK to play a short string of dates at the end of January and early February 2018.
